A new photograph of Prince George which shows him smiling in the arms of his father Prince William was released today on the eve of his second birthday.
The young prince is grinning with glees in the latest picture, part of the series of official photographs taken by renowned photographer Mario Testino following his sister Princess Charlotte's baptism on July 5.
"This photograph captures a very happy moment on what was a special day for The Duke and Duchess and their family. They are very pleased to share this picture as they celebrate Prince George's second birthday," a spokesperson for the Kensington Palace said.
George, third in line to the British throne, will mark his second birthday tomorrow with a low-key party planned by mum Kate Middleton.
Unlike his first birthday at Kensington Palace in London, this year he will celebrate in a countryside setting at the new family home of Anmer Hall on his great-grandmother Queen Elizabeth II's Sandringham estate in the east of England.
His grandparents Michael and Carole Middleton and aunt Pippa will join other close friends of his dad Prince William, the Duke of Cambridge, and Kate.
But George's other set of grandparents - Prince Charles and the Duchess of Cornwall - will not be attending as they are on an official visit to the West Country, south-west England.
Prince William has also just started his new job as an East Anglian Air Ambulance helicopter pilot and may not be able to make the party due to work commitments.
The Middletons run a very successful family business selling party supplies, and the Duchess of Cambridge's sister Pippa has even written a book about how to plan a party.
With all this help from family and from a nanny and housekeeper, Kate has been determined to organise the party herself, the 'Daily Telegraph' reported.
The Queen, who dropped in for 50 minutes during his first birthday celebrations last year, is unlikely to attend this year.
