The 54-year-old frontman of pop band "Culture Club," battled with addiction after he became famous in 1980s, reported Mirror.
"I met Princess Diana and she said to me, 'Do you know what? You're a survivor'. I said I didn't know how to take that and she assured me it was a compliment. It was such a sweet thing to say, she was like 'You're like me, you're a survivor'," George said.
The singer said he is now looking forward to the rest of his life, having overcome his personal struggles.
