Ganesh Dutt, a resident of Dansal area of the district, was found hanged from a grill inside a bathroom at Central Jail in Kot Bhalwal area of the city, a police officer said here.
The Body was recovered and shifted to Government Medical College and hospital for post mortem, he said adding the details behind taking the extreme step is yet to be ascertained.
According to reports, the inmate was a murder accused and was awarded life imprisonment eight years ago for killing his wife.
