The driver, belonging to cadre of chauffeurs in the Ministry of External Affairs, has been called back.
"We are willing to cooperate with them (Bangladesh authorities) in any manner. He was moved out (from the station) for probity, fairness and process of justice," Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson Syed Akbaruddin told reporters here.
He said the driver had employed a local woman who went missing and was later found dead under a different police station area days later.
"We are also doing an inquiry," the spokesperson said.
The driver cooperated with the Bangladeshi police, who questioned him, before he was moved back to India.
"The Bangladeshi police is conducting its investigation. They have also recorded his statement. Subsequent to that, it is normal, it is standard procedure that where somebody is involved, he is moved out of that location," the spokesperson said.
He underlined that the authorities here are also conducting an inquiry into the incident.
