Process to appoint new IIT-Delhi Director begins

The process of appointing a new Director of IIT-Delhi has been started by the HRD Ministry with interview of 40 senior academicians having been done.
Around 70 senior academicians have applied for the position.
The interviews were conducted by a committee and the chosen candidate's names will be sent to the office of President Pranab Mukherjee, who as the visitor of Central Institutions, for the final nod, sources said.
The Ministry had invited applications for the position of IIT Director last year as the post had fallen vacant after Raghunath K. Shevgaonkar resigned.
