The optional-after school programme is offered for students of Class IV to VII which is very crucial in their career, Robotix Learning Solutions and Meritus Smart Learning Solutions Chairman and Governing Council Member, A S Ramana Prasad said.
"Basically, Meritus Mynd Works comprises two different segments. One is Brain Gym and other robotics. It involves one hour per week of brain gym and robotics," he said.
Observing that most humans become left-or right brain dominated individuals as they grow up, he claimed that introducing children to learning methodologies at an early stage would help trigger their imagination and interest.
"We had kept it as a low key launch. Having tasted success, we felt we needed to offer it to more students across Chennai and then move across Tamil Nadu", he said.
He said there are plans to cover 7,000 students from 30 schools across Tamil Nadu by 2015.
They also plan to launch the service in Dubai and Abu Dhabi. "In 2014, we will launch it in Dubai. We are targeting about 2,000 students in Dubai. So we are talking about 15,000 students in two-three years", he said.
"We have been focusing on introducing this concept to school children and are willing to partner with play schools, which play a key role in shaping young minds", she said.
Robotix offers it as a 30 week programme from Class IV at a fee of Rs 15,000 per year, she said, adding it is aimed at increasing the child's intelligence quotient, analytical, innovative and creative skills.
