Samajwadi Party today said exit poll results for Delhi Assembly elections, which project BJP as the second largest player, are a reflection of public disenchantment with the party.

"It has not even been a year since the formation of Narendra Modi-led government at the Centre but the exit poll results for Delhi elections are a reflection of public disenchantment with the BJP," SP leader Shivpal Yadav told reporters on the sidelines of a function here.

"He had made big promises to the public but has failed to fulfil them," the senior Uttar Pradesh cabinet minister said.

All the exit polls yesterday predicted a majority for the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) in the Delhi Assembly elections with one of them giving it as high as 53 seats in the 70-member House.

BJP was projected to be the second largest party way behind AAP, the polls shown on television channels said.

Responding to a query on the law and order situation in the state, Yadav said that despite Uttar Pradesh being the most populous state in the country, the crime rate is relatively lower as compared to other states.

Delhi and Rajasthan have higher crime rates, he claimed.
