The House also adopted a resolution requesting the Centre to permit Puducherry government to bring in a legislation to conduct bull taming sport jallikattu every year without hiccups.
Winding up the debate on the resolution moved by him on NEET, Chief Minister V Narayanasamy said he had already written a detailed letter to the Prime Minister and Union Health Minister highlighting the difficulties the students of the four regions of union territory would face in case NEET based admission was adopted foradmission to medical courses.
Hence the CBSE pattern of syllabus based on which NEET examination was conducted wouldpose practical difficulties to students of the union territory.
He said Puducherry should be allowed to continue with the present system of selecting students based on marks obtained in the higher secondary exam and after preparing a rank list by government-sponsored Centralised Admission Commission (CENTAC).
AIADMK legislature wing leader A Anbalagan said the government should bring in a legislation to ensure 50 per cent quota for the government sponsored candidates in private medical colleges.
