Pulse production to increase by over 50% this Kharif season:

Production of pulses in Rajasthan is likely to increase by over 50 per cent in this Kharif season compared to last year, said State Agriculture minister Prabhu Lal Saini today.
1.5 lakh hectares was added to the sowing area of paddy crops this year, he said, adding paddy crops were sowed in 28.32 lakh hectare in the last Kharif season while this year sowing is in 29.88 lakh hectare.
Pulse production in Rajasthan was 10 lakh metric tonne in the last Kharif season, it is likely to grow to 16.5 lakh metric tonne this time, he said.
