Pun govt instruct depts to provide quality services to public

Punjab Government has directed all departments to be meticulous while releasing funds from the state exchequer and deliver quality services to the public spending in minimum amount.
The Finance Department today said that fresh instructions for the financial year 2015-16 have been issued to curtail the government's spending and increase saving, an official spokesperson said.
Department has also been told to monitor the salary budget, he said.
The instruction are that any department require more funds for the salary budget must send the proposals to the Finance Department in advance, he said.
He further said, Departments have been told to release outstanding payments on priority instead of releasing fresh payments.
They have categorically been restricted to clear fresh payments in case old payments are still pending.
All the payments must be paid through Electronic Clearance System (ECS), he said.
The spokesperson also said that departments could continue such temporary post in FY 2015-16 for which approval had already been taken in FY 2014-15.
To convert the temporary posts into regular posts or to revive a post, instructions of the Finance Department issued from time to time must be adhere to.
