Punjab: Gangsters held in Rupnagar

Punjab Police today arrested two gangsters for their alleged involvement in a firing incident at a local government college in the district in which one person was injured.
Rupnagar SSP Raj Bachan Singh Sandhu said Gurpreet Singh alias Preeti and Neeraj had fired five to six rounds at a man named Chanpreet Singh when he went to the college on July 13.
The accused were booked under charges of attempt to murder and the Arms Act and a hunt was launched for them, he said.
During police checking near the Ropar head works here, the gangsters were nabbed while they were travelling in a car, Sandhu said.

The SSP said two pistols were recovered from their possession.
