Punjab govt to provide free insurance cover to fish farmers

The Punjab government would cover all fish farmers in the state under a free insurance scheme for the financial year 2015-16, an official said here today.
In Punjab, there are 8,000 fish farmers who would be benefitted under this free insurance scheme, he said.
The scheme is being executed in collaboration with Fishcofed, he said.
"The fish farmers would not be charged a single penny for this insurance," the official said, adding that the central and state governments would pay the premium under this scheme.
