Punjab man killed in Bengaluru

A 35-year-old man, who was aspiring to go abroad, was allegedly killed by his travel agents in Bengaluru, police said today.
Surinder Pal, a resident Kalyanpur village here, wanted to go to Canada and had got in touch with the agents, Superintendent of Police (SP), Investigation, Harpreet Singh said.
Harminder Singh alias Shelly, G D Patel, Sanjeev and Naresh, who claimed to be agents, had promised to send him to Canada, the SP said.
They instead took him to Bengaluru and allegedly killed him there about two months ago, Harpreet said.
The accused have been booked under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code, follwoing a complaint by Pal's relative Gobind Singh.
Gobind suspected that Pal was in the illegal custody of the travel agents in Bengaluru and lodged the complaint, the officer said.
Harpreet said that when a police party went to get him freed from the alleged captivity in Bengaluru, they were told that his body was recovered from the bushes of a village there on December 6.
In Benagaluru, officials concerned cremated the body tagging it unidentified and unclaimed, he said.
Pal is survived by his wife, three-year-old daughter and two-month-old son. He was also looking after his widow sister and her two children, family members said.
