Punjab Vigilance registers case against 11 BDA officials

The Bureau has conducted an enquiry about the electric works executed by BDA in Mour Mandi, Mansa and Budhlada towns and grave irregularities were found, Suresh Arora, DGP-cum-Chief Director of the Vigilance Bureau, said here.
In this regard the Vigilance has registered a case under the Prevention of Corruption Act and various sections of the IPC against chief engineer Tarlochan Singh, superintending engineer Paramjit Singh, three SDOs- Chanchal Ram, Harminder Singh and Umesh Kaushal, two junior engineers- Gurdeep Singh and Swarndeep Arora, section officer Amit Garg, three contractors- Bhushan Kumar Thakural, Pawan Kumar Sighal and Kulbir Sahni.
Arora said that it was detected that the accused government officials in connivance with contractors had caused a loss to the tune of over Rs eight crore to the state exchequer.
He said that the further investigations were under progress in this regard.
