The All India Youth Federaton today staged a demonstration here demanding that the state government take strong action and put an end to the menace of usury prevailing in the State.
Citing the recent incident in which a four-member family set themselves ablaze in Tirunelveli, the AIYF, affiliated to CPI, demanded that the government identify those involved in such practice and take stringent action on complaints from the victims, police said.
The demonstration was led by AIYF district president, M V Kalyanasundaram.
