India's aviation watchdog Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) is likely to issue an additional advisory soon for Airbus planes fitted with Pratt & Whitney engines, said a source privy to the development.
At a three-hour meeting on Tuesday, the Civil Aviation Ministry reviewed the frequent on-ground and mid-air glitches that the P&W engines, powering these planes, have been facing since their induction in early 2016.
"In order to deal with issues related to P&W engines, the DGCA will issue an additional advisory in the coming one week," the source said.
The decision to issue the additional advisory comes a day after the US engine maker announced sponsorship for one of the ministry's events in Mumbai on January 15 and 16.
The twitter handle of Global Aviation Summit had posted on Monday: "We are proud to welcome on board @prattandwhitney as the silver sponsor for #GAvS2019. Your expertise in world-class service operations and global presence have helped aviation reach greater heights."
