"PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) Pvt Ltd has been engaged as a consultant for formulation of solar energy scale up plan," Power Minister Piyush Goyal said in a written reply to the Rajya Sabha.
The minister further said some of the work undertaken by PwC includes assessing the power scenario in the country and analysing the efficacy of ongoing initiatives by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) as well as brining out a realistic demand projection and capacity addition plan.
He further said there is a proposal to scale up grid connected solar power projects from 20,000 megawatt (mw) to 1,00,000 mw by 2022 under National Solar Mission (NSM).
"The plan of auction to achieve the target is under preparation," the Minister said.
