The accused was identified as Shrikant Dekate.
The complainant in the case had constructed a building of the Revenue Department at village Bamni near here. When the contractor approached Dekate with a request to sanction his bill of Rs 24 lakh, the officer demanded a bribe of Rs 48,000 at the rate of 2 per cent of the total bill, the ACB said.
The contractor told him that he was ready to pay the bribe amount, but later approached the ACB and lodged a complaint.
The raid was conducted by a team led by Police Inspector D W Mandalwar.
