MBBS doctor, has been arrested for illegally running a clinic in South Delhi's Munirka locality, police said today.
Subodh Sarkar, a resident of Gopi apartment in Kishangarh, was posing as a doctor and running 'Mitali' clinic at Mansa Ram Chowk in Munirka.
"Police raided Mitali clinic, where Sarkar was present and claimed himself to be a doctor. He failed to produce his certificate of medical practice or degree and tried to mislead cops by showing ayurvedic degree of BAMS (Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine System) and PMPA (Modern Scientific System of Medicine, issued by Private Medicine Practice Association of India," DCP South District Chhaya Sharma said.
Sarkar completed his diploma in Ayurved (BAMS) from Kolkata. Later, he started posing as an allopathic doctor and began prescribing medicines, the officer said.
The Delhi Medical Council had recently issued an advisory directing the authorities concerned to curb activities of quacks in the capital.
