Qualifier Tanushree knocks out second seed to enter final

Qualifier Tanushree Palanivel of Tamil Nadu caused a big surprise in the Rs 1.5 lakh prize money Dreamzkraft Khar Gymkhana All India women's open tennis tournament here today when she knocked out second seed Jeni Patel to enter the singles final.
Tanushree defeated her 33rd ranked rival from Gujarat 2-6 6-2 6-1 in the semi final to enter the summit clash, scheduled tomorrow, against another qualifier -- Himani Mor of Haryana.
Himani easily disposed off giant-killer Pareen Shivekar of Maharashtra, conqueror of top seed Preethi Ujjini of Karnataka in the quarterfinals, in straight sets 6-4 6-4 in the other semifinal.
