The railway gallery in Pushpa Gujral Science city which was announced two years ago opened for the public today, R S Khandpur, Director General of Science City said.
"After galleries for science of sports, evolution, cyber space, fun science and health, we have come up with the rail gallery at a cost of rupees one crore and ten lakh. It will be the main attraction of the Science City," he said.
"Effort has gone into making the railway gallery technologically advanced and attractive. Visitors to the gallery can enjoy the experience of train journeys with the diesel loco simulator," the DG said.
"Those inside the simulator will virtually travel through tunnels, over bridges, winding roads and mountains," he added.
Models of Japan's bullet train and Delhi metro will also be set up at the gallery, besides information on how TTs, station masters etc work.
