A case was registered against the agency by Railway Protection Force and one of its staff was arrested, according to a release.
Officials from Vigilance department of Northern Railway, Crime Investigation Branch of Railway Protection Force (RPF) and Delhi Cantt station yesterday uncovered the illegal activity of rail ticketing agency Shristi Travel in Manesar in Haryana's Gurgaon district.
Contrary to the practice of booking of e-tickets on the identity of an authorised agent, the said agency was resorting to the malpractice of booking large number of e-tickets on the personal ID of its staff and was allegedly receiving unlawful gratification for the same.
One staff of Shiristi Travel was arrested on the spot and under Section 143 of Railway Act, a case was registered at RPF Gurgaon.
Unauthorised buying and selling of reserved tickets is an offence under Section 143 of the Railways Act.
