The Met department today forecast rain in West Bengal owing to a depression over northwest Bay of Bengal.
The system is very likely to move west northwestwards and cross north OdishaWest Bengal coasts, close to Balasore by tonight, the weatherman said.
Under its influence, rainfall is likely to occur at many places over West Bengal with heavy rain at one or two places in East and West Midnapore, Jhargram, Purulia and Bankura districts.
The weatherman said that sea condition will be rough to very rough over northwest Bay of Bengal and along and off Odisha and West Bengal coasts.
It asked fishermen not to venture into northwest Bay of Bengal and along and off Odisha and West Bengal coasts till tomorrow.
