Rain lashes some parts of HP

Barring a few places in Kangra, Mandi and Sirmaur districts, the mercury rose marginally in the hilly state of Himachal Pradesh with Una recording the maximum temperature at 34 degree Celsius.
The weather remained dry but the sky remained heavily overcast in the state, with an increasing humidity level.
Dharamsala was wettest in the region with 35 mm of rains while Sangrah and Nahan in Sirmaur district received 25 and 15 m of rains, followed by Sundernagar 14 mm, Manali 12 mm and Solan 10 mm.
The traffic on the Pathankot-Jogindernagar meter gauge rail line in Himachal was closed for ten days for repair of 165 km long rail track which has been damaged at numerous places due to landslides triggered by heavy rains in the region during past one week, railway official said.

"Traffic was suspended on Friday as heavy rain damaged the track at a number of points between Guler and Kangra towns", Assistant Divisional Engineer (Northern Railways) M K Goel said.
Una was the hottest in the region with maximum and minimum temperatures at 34 deg and 24 deg respectively.
Bhuntar and Sundernagar recorded maximum temperatures at 31.7 deg and 30 deg while Kangra recorded a high of 28.1 deg, followed by Nahan 27 deg, Dharamsala 20.6 deg, Manali and Solan 25 deg, Kalpa 23.2 deg and Shimla 20.9 deg C.
The local MeT office forecast rains and thundershowers would occur at many places in the state during the next four days.
