Rainfall fails to bring respite from heat in UP

Despite light to moderate rains in parts of Uttar Pradesh, temperatures failed to drop as mercury touched 45 degrees in Banda, the highest in the region.
According to MeT department, Gazipur recorded rainfall of 4cm, the highest in the state.
In other parts of the state, Lalgunj, Azamgarh, Kaisergunj and Moradabad received rainfall of 3cm respectively, Bahraich and Baberu also experienced thundershowers with 2 cm each while Lakhimpurkheri, Fursatgunj and Sultanpur had 1 cm each.
