It was a rainy Sunday as Delhi enjoyed the showers that stretched throughout the day bringing down the temperatures, even as waterlogging was reported from several parts of the city.
According to the MeT department, Safdarjung observatory recorded 35.8 mm of rainfall between 8.30 am and 5.30 pm today.
During the day, the maximum temperature was recorded at 34 degrees Celsius which was normal for this time of the season, while the minimum settled at 25 degrees, one notch below normal.
The rains, however, pushed the humidity level to 95 per cent. It oscillated between 83 and 95 per cent during the day.
Meanwhile, waterlogging was reported from several parts of the capital including many important traffic intersections. But it being a Sunday, the city was spared the traffic woes.
"Waterlogging complaints were received from areas such as Wazirabad flyover, Barapullah, Adchini traffic intersection, Lala Lajpat Rai Marg, Lodhi Road, IGNOU Road, Bhagwan Dass Road, AIIMS, Rajokri flyover among others," said an official at the Traffic Control Room.
Waterlogging was also reported from areas near Seelampur and Lakshmi Nagar metro stations, according to East Delhi Municipal Corporation.
The MeT department has predicted overcast conditions for tomorrow with light to moderate rainfall in some areas. It also said thundershowers may occur in some areas.
"It will be a generally cloudy sky tomorrow. Light to moderate rain and thundershower may occur in some areas of the city. The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to hover around 33 and 24 degrees Celsius respectively," the MeT office said.
