Rains eldue Punjab, Haryana

Rains remained elusive from most parts of Punjab and Haryana today with maximum temperatures settling at above normal limits with high humidity levels making lives uncomfortable for the people in the region.
Maximum temperatures hovered between one to three degrees Celsius above normal in most parts of Punjab and Haryana, the MeT office said here.
Besides, high humidity levels upto 97 per cent prevailed at several places in the region.
Patiala was the hottest place in the region with a high of 35.6 degrees celsius, three notches above normal.
While Hisar and Narnaul settled at an identical high of 35.5 degrees Celsius, the maximum at Ludhiana, Amritsar and Ambala was an identical 35.4 degrees Celsius, two and three notches above normal respectively.
Chandigarh had a high of 35.2 degrees Celisus, which was three notches above normal.
The Met forecast light to moderate rainfall at isolated places in Punjab and Haryana during the next 24 hours.
