"Corpus fund of the council should be strengthened with the support of people and organisations to the tune of Rs 5 crore so that the interest obtained on the sum could help the council carry on its activities for the welfare of children," Qureshi said presiding over the 10th general meeting of the council at Raj Bhavan.
Uttarakhand Council For Child Welfare is a registered voluntary organisation that seeks to promote child welfare in state.
The Governor directed the council to organise health camps for children in remote hill villages, making the adoption policy more efficient and creating more awareness on the issue of female foeticide.
