Raj govt announces seven-day state mourning

Rajasthan government today announced a seven-day state mourning in honour of former President A P J Abdul Kalam.
"As a mark of respect to former President A P J Abdul Kalam, seven days of state mourning will be observed in the state from July 27 to August 2, during which the Tricolour will fly at half mast and there will be no official function," an official release said here.
However, all state government offices will remain open and no holiday has been declared.
Kalam died yesterday after suffering a massive cardiac arrest during a lecture at the IIM Shillong.
