Raj reels under heat, Bikaner boils at 46.6 deg C

Rajasthan continued to reel under heat wave even as light rainfall brought down day temperatures in western parts of the state.
Bikaner was the hottest place with a maximum temperature of 46.6 degrees Celsius.
Churu recorded a maximum temperature of 46.5 degrees whereas Barmer, Jaisalmer, Jodhpur, Kota, Sriganganagar and Jaipur recorded day temperatures of 46, 45.5, 45, 44.9, 44.7 and 43 degrees Celsius respectively, the MeT department said.
Day temperatures in Ajmer, Dabok and Chittorgarh were recorded as 41.6, 41.3 and 37.8 degrees Celsius respectively, it said.
Ajmer, Jaipur and Chittorgarh recorded light rains of 5.7, 2.6 and 1.5 mm respectively.
According to a MeT department forecast, heat wave conditions would prevail in western parts of the state and isolated areas are likely to receive light rainfall in the next 24 hours.
