Rajasthan discom official held for taking bribe

A technical assistant working at Jaipur Vidyut Vitran Nigam was arrested by the Anti Corruption Bureau here for allegedly accepting a bribe Rs 2,000 from a consumer in the district.
Sitaram Meena was arrested last evening by Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) sleuth while he was accepting the bribe from a consumer at Ayaana JEN substation office of Itawa panchayat committee in Pipelda tehsil, ACB Circle In-charge Vivek Soni said.
He had allegedly demanded a bribe of Rs 4,000 from Radhe Shyam Meena, also the complainant in the case, for exempting him from a penalty of Rs 27,000 which was slapped for power theft, Soni said.

After the complaint was lodged on December 7 with the ACB a trap was laid and the accused arrested red handed yesterday, he said, adding the bribe amount was also recovered.
The accused would be produced before ACB court today, Soni said.
