Rajasthan's education department has partnered with US-based technology firm Cisco to promote digital learning across the state using virtual digital room solutions.
"This initiative aims to enhance the quality of education through digital learning for academia to connect, collaborate, create and share content across 12 centres of State Institute for Education Management and Training (SIEMAT) in the state," Cisco said in a statement.
The financial details of the partnership were, however, not disclosed.
Under this association, Cisco and SIEMAT have committed to 50,000 manhours of training annually through the virtual digital classrooms.
Cisco has partnered with the Rajasthan government to establish Digital Learning Solution Rooms (DLSRs) which will deploy virtual digital classrooms across 12 institutes as part of the government's ongoing social initiatives programme locations in Rajasthan.
The partnership covers various initiatives of digitising the state, which include projects on urban development and accelerating local innovation.
"Education is the most potent catalyst of economic empowerment. Highly-skilled workforce and building local capability by training the teachers will accelerate Rajasthan's digital transformation," Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje said.
She added that this digital learning initiative will result in quantitative and qualitative enhancement of training capabilities.
"Digitisation opens up unprecedented opportunities for every state and city. As part of Cisco's commitment to Skill India and Digital Rajasthan, we are helping foster innovation and drive change by better preparing and training teachers through digital learning," Cisco President (India and SAARC) Dinesh Malkani said.
