Speaking at the youth festival at SMS stadium here, Gehlot also said the government was drafting a sports policy to promote sports in a planned manner.
"The government has approved new youth policy-2013 yesterday to ensure participation of youths in the development of the state and now we are forming sports policy to promote sports activities in a planned manner," Gehlot said.
He also appealed youths to adopt teachings of Swami Vivekananda and said that his teachings were relevant in present time.
Scores of youths from different parts of the state participated in the festival, which was held to commemorate 150th birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda.
The participants, associated with NSS, NCC and others, gave performances in the festival.
Sports competitions were also held on the occasion.
