Rajiv Shukla wants drastic steps to revamp Congress

Congress leader Rajiv Shukla today favoured "drastic steps" to revamp the party in wake of the unprecedented poll debacle in Delhi but steered clear of questions of bringing Priyanka Gandhi to the fore.
"The results are disappointing. Drastic steps are needed to strengthen the party. Both BJP and Congress should learn lessons," Shukla said.
To a question whether Priyanka Gandhi should take the leadership, the former Union Minister said that the issue should be left to the family to decide.
Meanwhile a small group of party workers led by Jagdish Sharma gathered outside party headquarters in the morning demanding to bring Priyanka in the front.

They waved placards asking "sychophants" in the party to feel ashamed and bring Priynka at least now.
"Ab to Congression Maan Jao, Priyanka Ji ko lekar AAyo," one of the slogans read.

Such demonstrations have also been held in past in favour of bringing Priyana in forefront of Congress politics. There has also been media specualtion regarding this a number of times. However, Priyanka Gandhi and her office have time and again dismissed such speculations.
Another party leader Rashid Alvi said until and unless Congress comes to the street with the common man to fight for these issues, people will not trust us.

He also said that the Delhi verdict has shown that communal harmony cannot be damaged under any circumstances.
