BJP President Rajnath Singh today condoled the death of noted violinist Lalgudi Jayaraman saying, "Indian classical music has lost a great guru".
Heaping praises on the legendary musician, who passed away here yesterday at the age of 82, Singh in a statement said, "Jayaraman belongs to an illustrious family of musicians which draws its unbroken lineage from a direct disciple of Saint Tyagaraja, one of the Trimurtis of Carnatic music".
"Jayaraman was not only a violinist; he was an accomplished vocalist and a composer too," he said.
