"The Mughal Road has opened a new vista of tourism promotion in Poonch and Rajouri and in near future these districts will become hub of tourism activities," Minister of State for Health Shabir Ahmad Khan said, while addressing a public meeting at Lah in Thanamandi area of Rajouri district.
Over Rs 20 crore is being spent in creation of various infrastructure facilities at potential tourism spots along the Mughal Road in these districts with special focus on promotion of eco-tourism, the minister said adding, the Lah Wali Bowli will be developed as a tourist resort and a project report of Rs 85 lakh has been prepared for approval of funds this year.
The minister also called upon panchayat members to play a productive role in development process in rural areas.
