The rally organised by a voluntary organisation, Purvanchal Gramin Sewa Samiti started from Chargawan Block here.
Apart from school children, volunteers from Fatima Hospital and Fatima School of Nursing also participated in the rally.
The rally culminated into a public meeting at Indira Crossing at Golghar where the experts stressed on the need for hygiene, clean surroundings and controlling the breeding of mosquitoes to curb the encephalitis menace.
Meanwhile, six more patients have succumbed to Encephalitis at BRD Medical college here during the past 24 hours.
These include three children from Gorakhpur and one each from Deoria, Mahrajganj and Kushinagar.
Additional Director General (Health) Diwakar Prasad said that this year, a total of 1,758 patients have been admitted to BRD MCH and other government hospitals of the region, of which 287 died.
He said, 328 patients are presently being treated at these hospitals.
