"Congress President Sonia Gandhi has approved the name of Rameshwar Dudi, MLA as the Leader of the Congress Legislature Party in Rajasthan Assembly with immediate effect," AICC general secretary Janardhan Dwivedi said.
Dudi is Congress MLA from Nokha in Bikaner district.
A few days ago, Sonia had made Pilot chief of the Rajasthan unit of Congress. Pilot is considered close to Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi.
Congress had lost badly Vasundhara Raje-led BJP in the desert state in the recent Assembly elections. A strong anti-incumbency against the Ashok Gehlot government had led to the rout of the Congress in Rajasthan.
