Chief Miniter N Rangasamy, accompanied by his ministerial colleagues and legislators, dragged the chariot of Sengazhuneer Amman temple in the coastal village of Veerampattinam here today.
Rangasamy along with Speaker, V Sabapathy and others later offered worship at the temple, dating back to several decades.
It had been the convention in Puducherry that either the Head of the State (Lt Governor) or head of the elected ministry should drag the chariots of the temples in and around Puducherry on the annual occasions.
