A man, who was declared a proclaimed offender in a four-year-old gang rape-and-murder case, has been arrested, police said today.
Police said he had been hiding at a place in Bihar bordering Nepal and came to Delhi a few weeks ago looking for job.
Based on a tip-off, police arrested Salkin from near Fatima Masjid in Kabir Nagar on Tuesday.
The gang rape-and-murder case was registered at Man Sarovar Park police station in Shahdara on September 4, 2014. One of the accused Shakeel was arrested while Salkin, 31, had been absconding.
He was declared a proclaimed offender by a court on March 3, 2015, said Nupur Prasad, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Shahdara).
