According to the prosecution, the accused, Bore Rajesh alias Chinna (28), took a minor girl (3) from her house at Odela headquarters on January 22 this year when her parents were not at home, sexually assaulted and brutally murdered her.
The accused threw the minor girl's body in the farm near the Odela railway station and tried to flee the scene.
The girl's relatives caught the accused at the railway station and handed him over to the police.
After a complaint, the Pothkapalli police registered a case and investigated the matter.
The judge also convicted him to rigorous imprisonment for ten years and a fine of Rs 500, for rape under Section 376(f) of the Indian Penal Code.
Both the sentences shall run concurrently, the judge said.
