Rape victim succumbs to injuries, JAC submits memorandum to CM

The minor victim who was raped by a juvenile on February 15 last in Chiningkhul village, today succumbed to her injuries at RIMS hospital, the police said.
A Joint Action Committee (JAC) was formed soon after the news of the death spread, which later on submitted a memorandum to the Chief Minister's office.
The JAC demanded the accused 14-year-old boy who was earlier produced before the juvenile court be treated as an adult and punished as per law, Panti Golmei, secretary of the JAC, said.
On February 15 the victim was found shivering after a massive manhunt at Chiningkhul village with injury marks and was admitted to District Hospital Bishnupur, but was later shifted to RIMS.
