MACT's presiding officer Deepak Jagotra directed United India Insurance Company Ltd, with which the car was insured, to pay a compensation of Rs 32,59,000 to the wife, mother and brother of Kamaljeet Yadav.
"The statement made by PW2 (Dharampal), who is the eye witness of the accident, is liable to be believed as he has stated the manner in which the accident had taken place and no ill-will can be imputed on his testimony which is free from any contradiction.
The family members of Kamaljeet had approached the Tribunal seeking a compensation under the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988.
According to the complaint, on June 6, 2012, Kamaljeet, was going towards his house in Najafgarh here on his motorcycle when a car hit him from behind. Kamaljeet, who was working as a supervisor in a private firm, died on the spot, it said.
The Tribunal, after going through the evidence brought before it, awarded the compensation to the family members of the deceased and directed the insurance firm to deposit the amount within 30 days.
