RattanIndia Power, the erstwhile Indiabulls Power, today said it has commissioned the fourth 270 MW unit of the 1,350 MW phase-I of its thermal plant at Amravati in Maharashtra.
"RattanIndia Power has commissioned unit-4 of phase-I of the 1,350 MW Amravati thermal power plant in Maharashtra," a release issued here stated.
The company is developing a 2,700 MW coal-based plant in Amravati in two phases of 1,350 MW each. This unit is a part of the first phase of the project, it said.
The first phase involves five units of 270 MW each. With the commissioning of the fourth unit, the total capacity of the first phase has increased to 1080 MW.
"The last (fifth) unit of 270 MW is expected to be commissioned by the month-end, taking the total installed capacity to 1,350 MW," the company said.
RattanIndia has assured coal linkages for the entire 2,700 MW from public sector Coal India and has also signed fuel supply agreements with South Coalfields, a subsidiary of CIL, the release stated.
The company has already signed a long-term PPA for 1,200 MW with Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company (Mahavitaran).
