Uttarakhand Chief Minister Harish Rawat has asked officials to speed up clearance of pending road construction proposals under Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY) in Almora, Nainital, Tehri and Pauri districts over the next couple of months and start work on them by November 1.
Rawat who reviewed the status of land acquisition proposals for PMGSY projects awaiting implementation in these districts yesterday asked Additional Principal Conservator of forests and nodal officer for forest clearance S T S Lepcha to convene meetings with officials concerned by September 15 in this regard.
He said the land acquisition process for such projects should be completed by September 30 and their DPR (Detailed Project Report) should be prepared by October 15 so that work on them could be started by November 1, an official release said here today.
Rawat also directed officials to complete repairs of roads damaged by monsoon showers by October 20.
