Uttarakhand Chief Minister Harish Rawat today sought speedy clearance from the Centre to the much awaited Lakhwar and Vyasi hydro-power projects.
Both the projects have already been given clearance by the Ministry of Forest and Environment. The only clearance still awaited is investment clearance which is pending before her Ministry, Rawat said while speaking to Union Water Resources Minister Uma Bharti.
Noting that these projects are among the few ambitious hydel projects taken up by the state government, the Chief Minister said speedy clearance to them will be highly beneficial to the state.
300 MW Lakhwar and 120 MW Vyasi Hydel projects are multi-purpose projects which will help boost irrigation and water supply besides power generation in Uttarakhand.
