A day after the Direct Benefit transfer of LPG (DBTL) scheme came to force in all districts of the country, the Reserve Bank today convened a meeting here to discuss 'Bank Aadhar seeding'.
"Pursuant to the deliberations, it was decided that banks should strive to complete AADHAAR seeding at the earliest for seamless direct transfer of cash subsidy to the beneficiaries' accounts," according to an official release.
In order to have a better coordination in the districts in Tamil Nadu, details of district co-ordinators and distributors of oil marketing companies and NPR would be provided to Lead District Managers (LDMs) in the districts.
While LDMs have been adviced to conduct special camps on daily basis till January 15, 2015 for AADHAAR enrolment and opening of accounts, it was also decided to convene meetings of district co-ordinators of various stake holders at Chennai and Madurai to review the enrolment of AADHAAR in banks and OMC distributors across Tamil Nadu, it said.
RBI Regional Director J Sadakkadulla chaired the meeting attended by UIDAI Assistant Director General E P Nivedita, officials from National Population Registry, Census Operations, oil marketing companies and various banks, it added.
