Speaking after inaugurating a two-day National 'Vendor Development Programme-cum-Medium, Small and Micro Enterprises (MSME) Expo here, Radhakrishnan, a former BJP MP, said the Centre would be ready even to fund the park, considering the potential of small industries in the region.
Stating that representatives of the industries should seek the assistance of both the State and Central governments for their requirements, he said he was aware that industries in the region had performed well in the last one year in supplying components to Public Sector Units.
Stating that he was willing to organise a bankers' meeting with MSMEs to ensure implementation of the Start up India scheme,he said small industries who become NPAs shall be allowed one more year with nine per cent simple interest.
The expo is jointly organised by MSME - Development Institute in association with the Coimbatore Sidco Industrial Estate Manufacturers' Association (COSIEMA).
A total of 82 MSMEs are exhibiting their facilities, as 20 major outsourcing companies, buyers and PSUs and 20 nationalised banks are participating in the event.
He said the workshop's turnover increased from Rs 65 crore to Rs 140 crore last year and was expected to cross Rs 300 crore in 2019.
