Jharkhand Governor Droupadi Murmu today said red tape should not be a hurdle in delivering justice to common people.
Speaking at the 3rd Lok Adalat organised by Jharkhand High Court Legal Services Committee under the aegis of Jharkhand State Legal Services Authority (JHALSA) for university employees, Murmu said JHALSA had an important role in delivering justice to common people.
Chief Minister Raghubar Das, in his speech, said that the government was making efforts to deliver justice to the last person in the queue, an official release said.
Das said that there would be provision in 2017-18 budget to introduce computer education at primary education level and more funds would be allotted to education.
After the creation of Jharkhand, Das said, attention had not been given on higher education for which the state lagged behind.
Now the state government has made separate provision to stimulate higher education and making efforts to make Ranchi a capital of knowledge and study, he said adding work was on for teachers' recruitment.
The chief minister lamented that despite being rich with resources, there was poverty in the state.
Speaking on the occasion, Jharkhand Education Minister Neera Yadav said that Lok Adalat has proved a boon to the people and there was necessary for more awareness among the common people.
She said that the government would set up a number of colleges in different districts and an engineering college for girls was being set up in Ramgarh district, she said.
