Refined soya oil prices were higher by 0.28 per cent to Rs 768.70 per 10 kg in futures market today as speculators raised their bets amid upsurge in demand in the spot market.
Besides, tight stocks position on fall in arrivals from producing regions fuelled the uptrend.
At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, refined soya oil for delivery in June went up by Rs 2.15, or 0.28 per cent, to Rs 768.70 per 10 kg with an open interest of 58,850 lots.
Similarly, the oil for delivery in July contracts was up by Rs 2.20, or 0.28 per cent, to Rs 779.80 per 10 kg in 27,530 lots.
Analysts said expansion of positions by traders due to pick up in demand in the physical markets against paucity of stocks on fall in supplies from producing belts helped refined soya oil futures to trade higher.
